Removing My Seed Coat© / accordion fold art book $13.
The depth of a life-long mystical relationship with the natural world informs my garden designs, writing, speaking and teaching— now focused on “the heart-centered garden”.  Many of the "wisdom notes” that have come to me over my life time are expressed through works of art. “Eartheart works— works of art through works of the heart"” describes my collected body of work, spanning more than thirty years.

The “seed coat” series consists of eight sculptural artwork books. Each work illuminates an aspect of our human condition through the wisdom of the botanic world. As of 2013, books on “seed coat removal” and “germination” have been published and are available for purchase here. Works on “rooting, leafing, branching, flowering, fruiting and seeding” will follow.

Each work begins with a handmade book, each in a different shape. The books are then transposed to a printed piece. Eventually, the eight books will be collected and released in a gift box set.

Removing My Seed Coat© / accordion fold art book $13. This work celebrates that seed coats open, releasing life. In botanical context this often appears, in some manner, traumatic. This book asks the question, “In what manner do you remove your seed coat?” Removing My Seed Coat

“I received for Christmas a copy of your Removing My Seed Coat art book from a friend of yours. I wanted to express the profound effect the poem has in connection to our work. We have a social service foundation in the Andes Mountains in Ecuador. I would like to have permission to take this beautiful poem and translate it to share with those in our mountain communities. I am envisioning an enlarged version of the art to be hung in our office as an inspiration to all involved in our model project. I teach creative arts and incorporating this type of art form in our curriculum would be so awesome and inspiring. I feel we have much to share.”

“I was particularly taken by one phrase, 'am I a mistake or a gift, I doubt.' This is a feeling that I have carried since childhood (I was suppose to be a girl) and it seems to resonate with other friends that I have.”

“A woman friend recently lost her partner of 30 years. As I was comforting her, I was moved to give her your book. Elizabeth, she was so moved by your images. It was the perfect comfort.”
